Back in 1928 your great-great-grandmother did her laundry with wash tubs and scrub boards. But if she had lived in Winter Park, Florida, she could have hired us do it.

Back then, an Acme route man would have picked up the dirty laundry and have delivered it back the next morning washed, rinsed and ready to hang dry.

Well, our little business really took off. By the 1930s, Acme Cleaners didn’t just become Orlando’s foremost dry-cleaner: our fleet of six delivery trucks served the entire Central Florida area.

In 1946, my uncle, Ernest Parham, joined Acme Cleaners. I joined Acme Cleaners in 1960 as an apprentice under my uncle and Mr. J.D. Peck, a master of his mettle. Now I run the company.
